Essential Duties & Responsibilities Contribute to a culinary experience of the highest quality, consistency, and creativity Ensure the smooth operation of the kitchen and the daily preparation of meals from pre-determined menus, ensuring the food quality and presentation meets our dining standards Assist with menu creation, budget control and development of new ideas Provide instruction to the kitchen team and monitor kitchen service levels to ensure Guests’ needs are met Estimate daily production needs on a weekly basis and communicate production needs to kitchen personnel daily Prepare and cooks food of all types, either on a regular basis or for special Guests or functions Assist in determining how food should be presented and creates decorative food displays Ensure compliance with food handling and sanitation standards Recognize superior quality products, presentations, and flavor Follow proper handling and correct temperature of all food products Operate and maintains all department equipment and reports malfunctions Additional Perks 30% discount at Stanley's Bar & Grill and Prospect Point Café 30% discount on food & beverage items in The Cliff House Restaurant, Loggers' Grill, Beary Waffles, and The Cabin at Capilano Suspension Bridge Park 30% discount off regular-priced merchandise at The Trading Post Gift Store at Prospect Point and Capilano Suspension Bridge Park Guest passes for friends & family to Capilano Suspension Bridge Park Referral bonuses Employment & Family Assistance Program, offering five free online counselling sessions per topic for our staff Qualifications Minimum 5 years of experience in culinary roles Previous banquet experience Red Seal Certification (or equivalent) Food Safe Level 2 Certified (required) You THRIVE in a fast paced environment and can multi-task with ease You lead with a positive attitude, outgoing personality, and bring energy and enthusiasm to work every day! Considerations Must be available to work a variety of shifts including evenings, weekends and holidays, to meet the needs of the business.
While performing the duties of this position, team members are required to be on their feet for extended periods of time.
Occasionally required to lift and carry up to 20 lbs.
Occasionally required to lift and climb a step ladder or step stool.
The wage for this role is $28.35 per hour.
