The Ministry of Government Relations is responsible for municipal relations, First Nations, Métis and northern affairs. The ministry works with a diverse range of partners and stakeholders so that communities can improve their quality of life.
The Business Improvement Unit in Corporate Services leads major IT projects, information governance and business improvement for the ministry.
Reporting to the Director of Business Improvement, this position will play a key role in enhancing the quality of ministry programs and services through business process analysis and the design, development and delivery of Information Technology (IT) initiatives.
As a Senior Business Analyst, you will have knowledge of IT business analysis functions, including but not limited to requirement gathering, needs assessments and process mapping, as well as project management and system design methodologies.
You will have the ability to consult and communicate effectively with a variety of non-technical clients at all levels of leadership for IT-related projects.
You will excel at undertaking research and business needs analysis to find solutions to problems encountered by clients.
You will actively lead and motivate teams by demonstrating effective communication, problem-solving and project management skills.
As the successful candidate, you will research, develop and manage business improvement projects to improve the functionality of programs.
You will be responsible for leading, directing and delivering application development initiatives. You will work closely with internal clients to maintain and update a variety of systems applications, as well as with stakeholders from other ministries and organizations to ensure the ministry is aligned with enterprise best practices.

Typically, the knowledge for this position would be attained through the completion of a recognized university degree in Business Administration, Commerce, or Computer Science.
A certificate in business analysis or project management is preferred. An equivalent combination of education and experience will also be considered.
