Registered Practical Nurse

Summary of responsibilities

Function as a member of the Nursing Team at full scope of practice. Provide / administer nursing care to patients according to policies, procedures and to the College of Nurses of Ontario (CNO) and CCH practice standards as well as embody a culture of caregiver inclusion in the patient’s plan of care.

Requirements of the job

• RPN in good standing with the College of Nurses of Ontario
• Valid Basic Life Support (BLS)
• Completion of Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS)
• Demonstrated regular, punctual attendance
• Demonstrated commitment to patient safety
• Holds RPN medication administration certification
• OR experience in an active OR setting within the last (2) years)
• Perioperative Course completion with certificate
• 1 – 2 years of surgical nursing experience
• Functional proficiency in English (oral and written)
• On-call shifts, occasional weekends
