Job Description
The Environmental Advisor plays a key role in supporting the implementation and continuous improvement of environmental programs across the Recycling and Kenny U-Pull divisions. Reporting to the Director of Environment, this hands-on role ensures that environmental requirements are understood and applied at all levels of the organization.
This position requires regular travel to sites in Quebec, Ontario, and New Brunswick—approximately one week per month.
What you’re responsible for:
- Assist in the preparation, data collection, tracking, and maintenance of environmental permits, documentation, and regulatory records in coordination with internal teams and external consultants.
- Provide administrative and coordination support for environmental projects (e.g., sampling events, remediation work, site environmental controls, etc.).
- Help ensure site compliance by performing inspections, collecting relevant data, finding solutions and communicating follow-up actions.
- Collaborate with environmental technician, operations, engineering, and other internal teams to ensure daily compliance with environmental requirements.
- Updating databases, preparing yearly emission reports, aiding in any emergency reporting or any other required reporting.
- Develop and update environmental procedures, SOPs, and aid in the roll-out.
- Prepare and provide training and awareness sessions, including procedure rollouts and toolbox talks.
Qualifications
To join our team:
- You have a Bachelor’s degree in Environmental Science, Environmental Engineering, or a related field.
- You have 2–5 years of experience in environmental compliance or program support (experience in recycling or industrial settings is an asset).
- You have knowledge of environmental regulations and permitting (air and water focus is an asset).
- You have strong interpersonal skills and ability to work collaboratively across departments.
- You have demonstrated organizational and problem-solving abilities, with the capacity to manage tasks independently.
- You are proficient in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint) and web-based systems.
- You have excellent communication skills, both written and spoken, in French and English (bilingual)
