Job Summary :
The School of Creative Arts is seeking a sessional instructor for Fall 2024 to teach VA383 : Advanced Studio : Photography. The course is currently scheduled as a face-to-face course, for Thursdays, 1-3 : 50pm.
Qualifications :
- An MFA or equivalent in Studio Art with a specialization or major in photography.
- Experience teaching photography at the post-secondary level, knowledge of studio techniques as well as proficiency in traditional film-based photography, including large-format film photography.
- Knowledge of historical and contemporary developments in this medium, including current and historical artists in the field.
- Committed to teaching and mentoring students, fostering a diverse, inclusive, and internationalized classroom environment. In addition, successful applicants must be able to incorporate or reflect Indigenous perspectives or ways of teaching and learning into their curriculum.
- Excellent interpersonal and communication skills and the ability to work collaboratively with students, staff, and other faculty.
