Temporary : January 5 2026 June 30 2026

Qualifications :

• BC Certification
• Bachelor of Education
• Significant coursework and / or certification in teaching strategies for English language learners
• Demonstrated experience teaching and ability to select appropriate materials and equipment for English language learners
• Ability to model through demonstration teaching appropriate strategies and techniques for staff to use to assist ELL students in regular classrooms
• Create annual instructional plans
• Demonstrated experience and / or training in the assessment of English language proficiency levels for English language learners
• Previous successful experience teaching at the elementary level is preferred
• Demonstrated current knowledge of the renewed curriculum including the learning and core competencies and appropriate resources is essential
• Demonstrated ability to use a variety of instructional and assessment strategies is essential
• Demonstrated ability to integrate appropriate technologies into educational programs
• Demonstrated ability to work effectively in a team environment
• Excellent communication interpersonal and classroom management skills

The annual salary for this position ranges from $60337 to $111450 with placement on the range based on length of service and qualifications in accordance with the collective agreement.
