Key Objective :

Reporting to the VP, Senior Business Architect, the Business Architect position is a part of the New Frontiers team comprised of data scientists, full stack developers, solution architects and business leaders to implement state of the art, AI enabled, digital solutions to transform Property and Casualty (P&C) insurance globally.

The incumbent will have experience in P&C Insurance and is responsible for consulting with the Subject Matter Experts to conduct workshops, solicit and manage product requirements, and collaborate with stakeholders from business, operations, analytics, and technology departments.

Major Responsibilities :

  • Lead discovery sessions with stakeholders from the business units, operations, and IT teams to analyze current workflows, and develop net-new underwriting solutions.
  • Collaborate with product owners, underwriting business units, and solution architects to design target state processes and user journeys enabled by a spectrum of AI capabilities.
  • Document business requirements, epics, and user stories in alignment with the product vision and roadmap.
  • Coordinate with business users to publish and sign off on the business requirements, manage and prioritize changes based on the business need.
  • Create presentations, research reports to highlight the key insights to be presented to the stakeholders, allowing them to make informed decisions.
  • Create and review test cases, and coordinate with business stakeholders, end users for user acceptance.
  • Support the development lifecycle from project inception to user acceptance and deployment.
  • Partner with the business users to ensure the developed solutions are fully aligned with the business needs.
  • Experience in P&C insurance underwriting is a major asset. Claims or operations may also be considered.
  • A minimum of 5 years of relevant professional experience.
  • Bachelor’s degree in a relevant discipline is preferred.
  • Insurance certifications from the Insurance Institute of Canada is preferred (CIP).
  • Creative thinker with skills in conceptualizing new product features, defining product roadmaps, developing business cases and proposals for solutions built on digital technologies.
  • Ability to work with cross functional global and local teams for the various projects across varying time zones as required.
  • Ability to deliver efficient and creative solutions in an incredibly fast paced environment with limited resources and minimal supervision.
  • Top notch communication, interpersonal and analytical skills.
