Family Law Lawyer

You’ll be stepping into a practice with existing files, strong systems, and excellent law clerk support, so you can focus on the legal work and client relationships that actually matter.

What You’ll Actually Do

You’ll run files. That means drafting persuasive court materials, reviewing and organising financial disclosure, preparing for and attending at conferences, motions, and mediations, and keeping files moving forward. You’ll speak with clients regularly and be trusted to think, write and advocate. We’re here to support you.

If you’re experienced with financial statement and net family property statement preparation, motion drafting, court attendance and mediation preparation, you’ll hit the ground running. The more initiative you show, the more responsibility you’ll take on.

The Work Itself

• Handle files from intake through resolution with supervision that respects your experience.
• Draft strong court materials, including pleadings, motions, conference briefs, settlement proposals, and more.
• Manage and review disclosure, including complex financials.
• Conduct legal research, use judgment, and help formulate winning strategies.
• Communicate clearly with clients and keep them informed.
• Attend court, mediation, and arbitration.
• Work with experienced law clerks who handles service, scheduling, logistics, and court filing.
• Be part of a team that values thoughtfulness, preparedness, and resolution.

You Might Be a Fit If You:

• Have at least 3 years of solid family law experience (more welcome).
• Know your way around the Family Law Rules, CLRA, FLA, and Divorce Act.
• Can draft compelling, well-organised, and persuasive materials.
• Are comfortable with court appearances, even complex ones.
• Can prepare full FS/NFPs and advise clients on property division issues.
• Are organised, proactive, and not afraid to make judgment calls.
• Want to be part of a practice with real mentorship and collaboration.
• Drink coffee
