Job description
HireArt is helping an on-demand, autonomous ride-hailing company find an Electrical Engineer, UX Hardware, to support the development of key human-machine interface (HMI) systems that enable seamless interaction between riders and autonomous vehicles.
In this role, you’ll sustain and scale electrical hardware systems for user authentication, ingress access, communication, and occupant monitoring, helping shape a seamless in-cabin experience. Working closely with cross-functional teams and suppliers, you’ll validate existing designs, resolve issues, and ensure systems are ready for reliable, large-scale production.
The ideal candidate is an experienced electrical engineer with a strong background in component and system design, validation testing, and supplier management. You’re highly collaborative, detail-oriented, and motivated to develop safe, intuitive rider interfaces for next-generation autonomous mobility.
As an Electrical Engineer, UX Hardware, you’ll :
- Define and manage electrical component and system requirements, leading technical discussions and development with suppliers.
- Coordinate supplier tooling and production activities to meet critical vehicle milestones.
- Collaborate with hardware, firmware, software, and manufacturing teams to iterate on designs and deliver reliable solutions.
- Conduct root-cause analyses during development, validation, build, and deployment phases to drive issue resolution.
- Develop and execute system- and component-level validation test plans to ensure performance and compliance.
- Support manufacturing and quality teams during vehicle builds, bring-up, and test activities.
Requirements
Bachelor’s degree in Electrical or Computer Engineering (or equivalent)5-10 years of experience in electrical component / system design, troubleshooting, and validationProven experience taking components or assemblies from concept through production, including supplier coordination and project managementHands-on troubleshooting skills at the board level using tools such as oscilloscopes, logic analyzers, and signal analyzersExperience sustaining and scaling existing electronic systems for production environmentsExperience in automotive (CAN bus, automotive Ethernet, A2B, and other vehicle networks), aerospace, or other safety-critical industriesFamiliarity with digital serial interfaces such as SPI, UART, I2C, and I2SExperience with electrical and EMI / C testingStrong communication skills and ability to collaborate across hardware, firmware, software, manufacturing, and supplier teamsBonus Qualifications
Understanding of automotive engineering and production processesExperience with large-scale automotive production or product scalingAbility to write basic Python scripts to extract or analyze data for testing or validationExperience with firmware or software integrationFamiliarity with high-speed protocols such as PCIe, DisplayPort, or HDMIKnowledge of automotive functional safety standards (ISO 26262)Proficiency in design tools such as Altium, 3DX, or Catia V5 / V6Benefits :
