Hours of Work : Monday to Friday, 8 : 00 AM to 5 : 00 PM

Location of Work : Steinbach, Main Office

We are seeking a highly skilled Financial Controller to join our team. Reporting to the General Manager, you will play a key role in overseeing and developing the accounting team, implementing industry-leading accounting practices, and designing and implementing effective tools and processes to support the company's growth vision and goals :

Responsibilities

• Prepare financial statements, financial reports, special analyses and management information reports.
• Participate in the presentation of month-end files to senior management.
• Collaborate with the Director of FP&A in the analysis of variances between actual and budget.
• Review all month-end balance sheets to ensure accuracy of financial data, including intercompany account reconciliation.
• Approve journal entries, bank reconciliations, commission reports, volume discounts, sales tax reports, and other reports intended for government.
• Establish and maintain appropriate internal controls and compliance for financial accuracy and proper governance, maintaining a solid financial control environment.
• Identify control weaknesses and implement new controls, processes and rigor if necessary.
• Lead and coordinate the interim audit and year-end audit ensuring that the deadlines for the internal and external reporting are met.
• Prepare the audited year-end financial statements and related notes.
• Mentor and set goals for direct reports to improve technical skills, general competencies and promote growth.
• Participate in software implementation / conversion.
• Continue to build and develop a strong, performing team who will take ownership and thrive in the roles defined for them.
