Role Responsibilities
Are you a lawyer with exceptional litigation skills? The Alberta Crown Prosecution Services Division (ACPS) has an exciting opportunity for a Crown Prosecutor to join the Prosecutions team at the Edmonton Rural and Regional Response Office (ERRRO) in Alberta.
As a Crown Prosecutor, you will play a vital role in delivering justice through fearless, fair, and effective prosecutions. The responsibilities of the role encompass a broad range of prosecutorial duties, including bail hearings, charge screening, early case resolution, alternative measures, determining whether to proceed to trial or discontinue a prosecution, conducting prosecutions, entering stays of proceedings, withdrawing charges, plea resolution, providing disclosure, electing to proceed summarily or by indictment, taking positions on sentencing, drafting legal opinions and briefing materials, working with victims, witnesses, and police, and initiating appeals.
