Job Details

Position: Traffic Control Person (TCP)
Job Type: Permanent – On-Call
Location: Vancouver Island, BC
Pay Rate: $21.00/hour + vacation pay
Start Date: ASAP
Location: Opportunities are available in Nanaimo, Duncan, Victoria, Sooke, Sidney, and surrounding areas.

Responsibilities

• 
  Direct vehicle and pedestrian traffic safely around construction and work sites.
  • Use hand signals, traffic signs, radios, and other traffic control methods.
  • Set up and remove traffic signs, cones, barricades, and other equipment.
  • Assist with traffic detours and single-lane traffic control.
  • Communicate with construction crews, supervisors, motorists, and pedestrians.
  • Monitor traffic and site conditions and report safety concerns.
  • Follow traffic control plans and all required safety procedures.
  • Work outdoors and remain on your feet for extended periods.

Qualifications

• 
  No experience needed.
  • Valid driver's license.
  • Reliable personal vehicle for commuting to job sites.
  • Comfortable driving within the assigned Vancouver Island service area.
  • Reliable, punctual, and safety-conscious.
  • Strong communication skills and ability to follow instructions.
  • Comfortable working outdoors in various weather conditions.
  • Able to stand and work for extended periods.
  • Available for on-call hours.
  • Candidates must be available for minimum 3 weekdays per week

Training & Career Growth

• TCP certification and training are provided at no cost.
  • On-road training is provided.
  • TCP certification classes are held on Vancouver Island every 1–2 weeks.
  • Opportunities for career advancement are available.
  • Eligible full-time employees may have the opportunity to apply for Lane Closure

Technician (LCT) positions after probation offering $25/hour, plus a company vehicle and gas card for workrelated travel.
