Robert Half is recruiting for an experienced Data Engineer for our Calgary Client. As the successful candidate for the role, you will be accountable for the design, development and maintenance of the Client’s data integration processes and associated data pipelines, ensuring optimized data integration and accuracy of all related data assets. You have strong Agile experience with a sold background in data modeling and SQL. This role is based in Calgary, AB., but is open to hybrid remote work permissions for eligible candidates.

Job Requirements:

MUST HAVES:

• 8 + years proven working experience in development role with solid ability to analyze, design, and build modern data solutions using Azure PaaS services to support data visualization
• Proficient experience with Azure, AWS, or GCP
• Extensive experience in developing data injection, consumption, ETL, data sanitization and developing and maintaining the life cycle (design, analysis, implementation, and testing) of data warehouses
• In-depth working experience with consuming, transforming, cleaning, and persisting large amounts of data
• Proven working knowledge and ability with Spark applications using Python, Scala, or Spark SQL in Azure Databricks for data extraction, transformation, and aggregation from multiple file formats
• Solid working ability with SQL Server, Integration Services (SSIS), DTS Packages, SQL Server Analysis Services (SSAS), DAX, OLAP Cubes, Star and Snowflake schemas for database design and development
• Experience in leading and mentoring a team of data/software engineers
• Top notch analytical skills and attention to detail in order to analyze and improve data reliability, efficiency, and quality
• Excellent problem-solving ability and documentation skills
• Solid ability to work collaboratively and communicate effectively within a cross functional team environment
• Post-Secondary Degree or Diploma in Computer Science or equivalent
