The Opportunity
As a Maintenance Technician (Grading Line), you’ll perform diversified maintenance duties to install, troubleshoot, repair, and maintain production and facility equipment. You’ll work within safety, predictive, and productive maintenance systems to support site goals and operational performance—especially by reducing downtime across the grading line and packhouse.
What You'll Do
Packhouse & Grading Line Maintenance
- Troubleshoot, repair, and maintain packhouse and grading line equipment to minimize downtime
- Service and support equipment such as:
- Fruit sorting line equipment
- Vision systems
- Corrugate erectors
- Labelling systems
- Conveyors
- Top seal machines
- Control systems
Greenhouse Systems & Equipment
- Repair and maintain greenhouse systems and supporting equipment as required
- Perform repairs and maintenance on motorized equipment such as forklifts, pallet jacks, and scooters
Preventative Maintenance & Inspections
- Complete daily, weekly, and monthly equipment checklists
- Support predictive / preventative maintenance practices to reduce breakdowns and production interruptions
- Organize and maintain maintenance supplies, spare parts, and tools
- Help control costs while ensuring critical spares are available to reduce downtime
Food Safety & Safety Participation
- Participate in the Food Safety Program and Safety Committee activities
- Support compliance with food safety regulations and WCB requirements
Other Duties- Support additional maintenance tasks as assigned based on operational needs
- Provide Saturday coverage as required
- Maintain regular attendance in accordance with company standards
Working Conditions
This role includes work in production and facility environments that may involve:
- Hot/cold temperatures, indoor/outdoor work, dusty and noisy conditions
- Exposure to fumes/airborne particles, moving mechanical parts, vibration
- PPE required (provided by the Company; training included)
Physical demands may include:
- Frequent walking and climbing stairs
- Occasional crouching/bending/stooping and pushing/pulling
- Lifting/carrying up to 50 lbs
What You Bring
Qualifications
- High School Diploma or equivalent is required
- Post-secondary education in a related field is considered an asset
Experience & Licenses / Certifications
- Minimum 1–2 years experience in a mechanical/electrical environment
- Power Engineer ticket and/or Trade ticket an asset
Skills & Abilities
- Strong ability to organize, prioritize, and meet deadlines
- Sound judgment and decision-making
- Clear communication and ability to work effectively with a team
- Strong troubleshooting skills: identify problems, determine causes, and implement solutions
- Ability to adapt in changing conditions and shifting priorities
