YOUR ROLE
Takes a holistic approach to providing an array of services that are customized to each individual’s unique needs, method of communication, and goals to increase their independence and enrich their life;Advocates on behalf of individuals and their unique needs and goals;Demonstrates professionalism with colleagues, family members / guardians, and in the community;As a communication partner, use as many methods of communication needed to facilitate the exchange of information (ASL, SEE, LSQ, etc.);Follows all medical treatment and procedures outlined by health care professionals and completes required documentation;Embodies the philosophy of ‘do with not for’; assists people supported in realizing their potential;Prepares and / or assists with meal preparation and healthy food choices according to specific dietary requirements;Implements behavioral strategies outlined by behavioral professionals, including tracking and reporting;Provides personal care as required (e.g. lifts and transfers, toileting, personal hygiene, etc.);Assists people supported with managing personal finances, budgeting, and maintaining up-to-date financial records;Believes in the organization’s mission, vision, values, and strategic direction and provides the highest quality of service.REQUIREMENTS
Minimum 1-year post-secondary education;Up to one year of related work experience;Commitment to engage in training to build specialized skills, competency, and knowledge in sensory loss;A valid G Driver's License is an asset.WHY WORK WITH US
