(CAN) Pharmacy Assistant - FT

Position Summary

The Pharmacy Assistant assists the Debate pharmacist in the technical aspects of prescription filling and administrative duties to increase the pharmacist’s opportunity to provide patient care. They are a key member in delivering superior customer service and participate in all aspects of Pharmacy Operations required of a team player.

What You’ll Do

• Receive and assess prescriptions for completeness and regulatory compliance (Name, Address, DOB, Allergies, 3rd Party Information सं Special Requests, Prescriber, Generic / Brand, prioritization).
• Perform computer functions as directed by the pharmacist (data entry, price check, patient information entry / update, interpretation & processing of written prescriptions, refills, report generation, patient profile checks).
• Fill prescriptions under pharmacist supervision, carrying out accuracy checks (7‑point, visual, DIN), selecting, counting / measuring, labeling and arranging for pharmacist review.
• Maintain inventory control : assist stock management, pull expired medications monthly, manage will‑call bin, write up returns, order drugs & supplies, use preferred wholesaler, operate the Telxon gun, price and put away pharmacy orders, zone shelves, and maintain key brands and generics.
• Perform general housekeeping : stock supplies, keep the dispensary clean and organized, maintain dispensing equipment, computer and fax machine, and maintain a safe work environment.
• Clerical organization : file prescriptions, invoices, reports, correspondence, and provide administrative support.
• Assist with OTC operations, stocking, and cashier duties as directed by the OTC Manager or pharmacist.

Pay

Hourly rate : $17.60 – $23.10 per hour, based on relevant experience.
