Accounts Payable Specialist

We are looking for a skilled Accounts Payable Specialist with SAP to join our team in Scarborough, Ontario. In this long-term contract position, you will play a vital role in managing invoice processing, vendor communications, and payment workflows with precision and efficiency. Responsibilities :

• Process invoices accurately and ensure proper coding for both purchase order (PO) and non-PO transactions.
• Manage the approval process for non-PO invoices, including obtaining necessary authorizations.
• Maintain and organize the accounts payable mailbox, ensuring invoices are appropriately filed and reviewed.
• Collaborate with vendors to address inquiries and resolve discrepancies in a timely manner.
• Handle weekly check runs, ensuring payments are processed on schedule and in compliance with company procedures.
• Monitor invoice volumes and adjust workflows to meet deadlines and maintain efficiency.
• Utilize SAP to post and track invoices effectively.
• Work closely with a team of clerks to support accounts payable operations and share responsibilities.
• Ensure compliance with company policies and accounting standards in all payment processing activities.
• Conduct follow-ups on outstanding approvals or payments to ensure smooth operations.
• Proven experience in accounts payable, including invoice processing and payment workflows.
• Proficiency in accounting software systems and SAP platforms.
• Familiarity with vendor management and resolving invoice discrepancies.
• Strong organizational skills to manage high volumes of invoices and maintain accurate records.
• Ability to work collaboratively within a team and adapt to changing priorities.
• Knowledge of coding invoices and ensuring compliance with accounting standards.
• Experience with check processing and weekly payment runs.
• Excellent communication skills for interacting with vendors and internal stakeholders.
