Environmental Field Technician (Field Based)

ERM is hiring an Environmental Field Technician to support pre-construction surveys and environmental monitoring mainly near Smithers, British Columbia, and in northern Canada. In this role, you will lead pre-construction surveys and monitor construction and operational activities at a variety of project sites. This is a full-time (12 hours per day, 84 hours per week, 2 weeks on, 2 weeks off), limited-term role with a duration of 4 months, extendable . Training will be provided for client-specific and site-specific safety, security, sampling, and inspection procedures.

RESPONSIBILITIES :

• Lead pre-construction surveys including migratory bird nesting surveys (i.e., nest sweeps), amphibian visual surveys and salvages, etc.
• Monitor construction and operational activities to support mitigation and protection of wildlife and sensitive environmental features.
• Promote safety awareness and the safe performance of our work.
• Adhere to data management and quality standards.
• Complete daily field reports and communicate clearly with the Project Management team.
• Contribute to a positive, professional environment.
