Position Description

Title : Packer

Department : Slitting

Location : Cornwall, ON

Reports to : Production Supervisor

Reporting to the Production Supervisor, the Packer is responsible for packaging rolls of tape in preparation for shipping.

Principle Accountabilities

• Ensure compliance with company policies, procedures and standards for cost control, waste reduction, quality, safety, and complete and on-time delivery
• Ensure high standards of workmanship and efficiency
• Ensure outputs meet production schedules, safety and quality standards
• Ensure proper use of required Personal Protective Equipment at all times
• Follow manufacturing and processing procedures, and carry out production and inspection processes
• Mark, record, and report defective products
• Maintain a clean working area free from dirt and debris between tasks and at the end of the day
• Closely monitor machines for signs of problems while ensuring output is meeting set specifications
• Remove completed products from conveyors and manually pack goods into bags, boxes or other containers
• Communicate with the lead hand, operator, supervisor, engineers, quality and other personnel to resolve equipment or quality issues
• Additional duties as requested
