ORGANIZATIONAL DEVELOPMENT SPECIALIST (FULL TIME)
The Wellington Health Care Alliance (WHCA) is currently accepting applications for a full time Organizational Development Specialist to join our Human Resources team reporting to the CHRO.
The Wellington Health Care Alliance (WHCA) is comprised of two corporations with more than 1,000 staff, including physicians and volunteers, operating three vibrant acute care hospital sites : Groves Memorial Community Hospital (Fergus), and North Wellington Health Care (Louise Marshall Hospital in Mount Forest & Palmerston and District Hospital in Palmerston).
The home site for this position will be Groves Memorial Community Hospital.
POSITION SUMMARY
The Organizational Development Specialist develops and delivers strategic initiatives and programming to build critical capabilities, competencies, and culture in alignment with organizational strategy, with a focus on the areas of talent management, career development, performance management, learning, and leadership development. The Organization Development Specialist helps to create and enables the achievement of the Strategic Plan and organizational vision.
QUALIFICATIONS
Bachelor’s degree in Organizational Development, Business Administration, Human Resources, Psychology, or other related field; a Master’s degree is considered an asset.Minimum 5 years’ experience working in organizational development, preferably in a unionized health care environment.Certification in change management or adult learning is an asset.Facilitating instructional skills (MBTI, DD, etc.) and / or coaching certification is an asset.Advanced knowledge of principles, theories, and practices in Organizational Development, Leadership Development and alternative training delivery methods.Knowledge of and adherence to ‘LEADS’ competencies (Lead self, Engage others, Achieve results, Develop coalitions and Systems transformation).Knowledge of best practices in diversity, inclusion, equity and anti—racism policies and programming.Knowledge and demonstrated experience using content development tools such as Microsoft Suite and Canva.SUMMARY OF KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
Proactively contribute to the evolution of our leadership development programs to support and guide aspiring and emerging leaders.Provide support for : strategic thinking / planning, change management, operational goals / objectives, planning, learning / educational programs, and strategies to promote the development of staff, leaders, managers and work teams / groups.Apply a methodical and thorough approach to performance assessments and change readiness assessments.Conduct performance gap analysis on individual Leadership and Talent Development constituents as identified.Consult with key stakeholders i.e. managers, and / or human resources regarding performance development, targeted leadership and talent development issues.Lead effectively by developing others through coaching, managing performance and mentoring.Demonstrate visionary leadership by focusing, inspiring and empowering the team to achieve personal, team and organizational goals.Work in compliance with the Health and Safety Act and its regulations in performing duties in a safe manner and follow all health and safety policies, procedures and legislation including wearing the appropriate Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) as required.Design and implement training programs.Facilitate individual or group training sessions in the areas of leadership, coaching, communication and change management.Create and / or facilitate content development for the Learning Management System (LMS).Ensure that corporate education strategies support the direction and implementation of the Strategic Directions.Support Leadership in implementing corporate change programs and fostering organizational development and continuous learning practices.Support leadership clients to identify communication needs and vital behaviours within their teams to influence necessary change.Develop and implement corporate educational programs by designing appropriate training programs, development opportunities, individual and team assessments, and individual competency identification.Provide support for General Orientation of new staff members and serve as the designated Equity, Diversity, and Inclusion (EDI) Lead.TRAVEL
Travel will be required to our sites at Groves Memorial Community Hospital, Palmerston & District Hospital and Louise Marshall Hospital, a valid driver’s license and reliable vehicle is required.

37.5 hours per weekOvertime as requiredSALARY
