Accounts Payable Manager

Job Description

We are seeking a detail-oriented and experienced Accounts Payable Manager to join our finance team. The Accounts Payable Manager will oversee the accounts payable department, ensuring timely and accurate processing of invoices, maintenance of vendor records, and management of AP staff. This role requires strong leadership skills, excellent organizational abilities, and a deep understanding of accounts payable processes.

Key Responsibilities

• Supervise and manage the accounts payable team, providing guidance and support as needed.
• Oversee the daily operations of the accounts payable department, including invoice processing, vendor payments, month-end closing and reconciliations.
• Ensure timely and accurate processing of invoices and payments in compliance with company policies and procedures.
• Monitor and manage the accounts payable aging report to ensure timely resolution of outstanding invoices.
• Maintain and update vendor records, including contact information and payment terms.
• Experience with Credit Cards review, audit, process credit card statements, and coding
• Assist in Mergers and Acquisitions as well as New Development onboarding process
• Collaborate with other departments to resolve any invoice or payment discrepancies.
• Prepare and present regular reports on accounts payable activities and performance.
• Assist in the development and implementation of accounts payable policies and procedures.
• Participate in month-end and year-end closing activities.
• Provide training and development opportunities for accounts payable staff.
• Stay current with industry best practices and regulatory requirements related to accounts payable.
• Credit card processing.
• Creating new accounts and entering new acquisitions.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in accounting, Finance, or a related field.
• Minimum of 5 years of experience in accounts payable, with at least 2 years in a supervisory role.
• Strong knowledge of accounts payable processes and accounting principles.
• Proficiency in accounting software Microsoft Office Excel and experience in ERP Systems, Oracle NetSuite a bonus.
• Experience with both US and CAD operations
• Excellent organizational and time management skills.
• Strong attention to detail and accuracy.
• Ability to lead and motivate a team.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
