Your role

Join our team as a Senior Project Manager – Transportation Infrastructure, with the British Columbia Business Unit.

In this role you’ll join our team of experts who lead the project management of transportation inrastructure projects of a varying scope and complexity for municipal and provincial clients.

The ideal candidate for this role will have expertise leading the planning, design and construction of transportation infrastructure projects including highways, urban roadways, bridges, and other civil works.

Responsibilities

  • Provide leadership to client projects, representing their best interests and achieving their strategic end goals.
  • Be a trusted advisor to the client, applying your deep understanding of planning, design, construction, and operation of a variety of transportation and civil infrastructure assets.
  • Take ownership of the initiation, execution, monitoring and reporting, and close-out of client projects.
  • Organize project teams towards a common goal and establish levels of authority and lines of communication.
  • Report on project status by means of progress reports, meeting minutes, and other reports.
  • Chair project and site meetings, identify and resolve project issues, and coordinate multiple stakeholders.
  • Apply your leadership and communication skills to bring together stakeholders and project teams.
  • Peer review the work of, mentor, and develop assistant project managers and support staff as needed.
  • Provide business development leadership to grow Colliers Project Leaders’ infrastructure services business in British Columbia.

Qualifications

  • A degree in Civil Engineering.
  • Professional Engineer designation (P. or equivalent.
  • PMP designation is a definite asset and will be supported within one year of hire.
  • 10 years experience of consulting or public sector engineering experience delivering transportation and other civil infrastructure projects for local and regional municipalities and provincial ministries.
  • Previous leadership of capital and municipal planning for linear infrastructure development.
  • Client-facing experience in the delivery of related projects.
  • Experience managing the procurement of engineering, design, and construction services.
  • Practical understanding of infrastructure planning and regulatory requirements.
  • Track record of collaborating with and learning from Indigenous communities.
  • Experience with design-build is a definite asset.
  • The leadership skills needed to influence decisions and resolve client and project issues.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication and presentation skills.
  • Approximate Base Salary Range for Role : $100,000 CAD to $145,000 CAD.

    Base Salary pay ranges are determined by role, level, and location and reflects the minimum and maximum target for new hire base salaries for the position. Within the range, individual pay is determined by work location and additional factors, including job-related skills, experience, and relevant education or training. Annual bonus opportunities are in addition to base salary.
