Pharmacy Assistant (Billing and Adjudication - Kroll Expert) - FT Permanent - Burnaby - Healthcare

Are you a skilled Pharmacy Assistant who can quickly solve public and private insurance issues with ease and without escalation, navigate around Kroll without assistance, and support patients over the phone fluidly due to your more than 3 years' experience as a data entry-oriented Pharmacy Assistant in a Kroll-based pharmacy? We are hiring for a full-time, permanent Pharmacy Assistant in Burnaby, for a role that is primarily desk-based and focused on your high-level billing and adjudication skills. If you are educated in accounting / bookeeping and possess at least 1 years' full-time experience in a pharmacy setting, we can also consider your candidacy (as this is an insurance / adjudication focused role but the pharmacy background is a must).

Desk-Based Focus : Spend the majority of your day (approx. 6 hours) utilizing your technical billing, adjudication, and communication skills, and up to 2 hours per day supporting filling and other hands-on tasks (but the balance is always based on business needs)

Comprehensive Training : A dedicated 1-2 month training period (8 : 00 AM–4 : 00 PM) is provided to ensure your success. Following the 1-2 month training period (8 AM–4 PM), you will work Monday to Friday 9am - 5pm or 10am - 6pm but we need talent who are openly available between the hours of 6am and 8pm weekdays to support business needs in the event that some shift changes are requested.

Pharmacy Assistant (Billing and Adjudication - Kroll Expert) - FT Permanent - Burnaby - Healthcare

Your day-to-day work will be a blend of technical coordination and hands-on pharmacy support :

  • Handle a high volume of desk-based patient and client interactions via phone and email.
  • Perform complex pharmacy billing and adjudication tasks (this is the primary focus). Extensive knowledge of public and private insurance billing is required to proceed in the selection process.
  • Communicate clearly and professionally with patients and internal team members.
  • Accurately manage prescription labeling.
  • Assist with limited hands-on pharmacy tasks, which may include supporting shipping / delivery-oriented work and filling as per business needs.

To be successful in this role, you must bring a specific set of skills and experiences :

  • Must-Have : Strong, proven experience in high volume pharmacy billing and adjudication.
  • Must-Have : Fluency in English with exceptional verbal and written communication skills (essential for this desk-based role).
  • Must-Have : Shift Flexibility. Following the 1-2 month training period (8 AM–4 PM), you must have the flexibility to work any of these shifts : 9 : 00 AM - 5 : 00 PM, 10 : 00 AM–6 : 00 PM or to support between the hours of 6am through 8pm weekdays if required.
  • Strongly Preferred : Proficiency with Kroll pharmacy software. (Candidates with expert-level billing and adjudication skills on other pharmacy systems will also be considered).
  • Ability to thrive in a fast-paced, high-volume office style environment.
  • If you are educated in accounting / bookeeping and possess at least 1 years' full-time experience in a pharmacy setting, we can also consider your candidacy (as this is an insurance / adjudication focused role but the pharmacy background is a must).
