Purpose:
The Technologist is responsible for the efficient and effective completion of ordered DI examinations and the day to day operation of the Ultrasound area within the Diagnostic Imaging Department. Technologists apply knowledge of anatomy, physiology and pathology to analyse sonographic data and enable the distinction of normal and abnormal findings and the identification of specific diseases and conditions. Technologists are responsible for the safe dispensing of controlled energy sources as defined by the Regulated Health Professional Act including ultrasound energy.
