Position Summary

The Department of Huutakiiinaaa (Education and Youth) is seeking enthusiastic and reliable on-call Child and Youth Support Workers to assist with and / or lead after-school programs, Pro-D Day activities, and seasonal camps.

These positions support programs that focus on recreation, land-based learning, and cultural connection for children and youth ages 7 to 16.

Key Responsibilities

• Lead and support the delivery of engaging, age-appropriate programming for children and youth.
• Provide active supervision and guidance, ensuring safety and positive participation in all activities and outings.
• Respond calmly and effectively to first aid situations or safety concerns, following established emergency procedures and reporting protocols.
• Model positive relationships, healthy lifestyles, and respectful communication.
• Take initiative in setting up, cleaning up, and organizing materials and program spaces.
• Incorporate cultural, recreational, and land-based activities that reflect Yuuuiat values.
• Follow established program safety practices and align with relevant standards from the Child Care Licensing Regulation where appropriate.
• Maintain confidentiality and professionalism at all times.
