Senior Quality Assurance Engineer - Civil / Structural

Overview

Raise is hiring a Senior Quality Assurance Engineer - Civil / Structural on behalf of our client. They’re expanding their team to meet growing needs, making this a unique opportunity to work with an industry leader. Our client is one of the largest electrical energy suppliers in Canada.

Pay Rate : $92.00 / hour, depending on experience. Contract Length : 1 year. Location : Burnaby, British Columbia. Note : The primary pay rate is based on the rate for an incorporated contractor who owns their own business. However, we will also consider applications from candidates interested in a T4 arrangement, where applicable.

Responsibilities

• Identify quality risks, propose mitigation plans, and monitor implementation.
• Work closely with engineering teams, supply chain, contract management, construction management, and suppliers to ensure compliance with specifications and QA requirements.
• Provide direction for in-house and contracted field inspectors.
• Participate in strategic sourcing, define evaluation criteria, assess proposals, and perform supplier evaluations and surveillance.
• Manage supplier improvement plans and monitor progress.
• Review inspection and test plans and contractor submittals.
• Witness testing (including factory acceptance tests) and verify compliance with standards.
• Lead factory or site construction audits.
• Initiate and lead resolution of non-conformities.
• Prepare clear, concise reports, memos, and project quality plans.
• Initiate new work releases with quality service providers.
• Balance technical knowledge, business sense, and communication skills to deliver efficient solutions.
• Be self-motivated and thrive in managing multiple concurrent projects (up to 10 at various stages).
