The Role
We are currently recruiting for experienced Journeyman and Apprentice Ironworkers to join our team for a turnaround in Central Alberta. The successful candidates will work in a safety-first environment, working 4x10s, shifts starting at 7 : 00am to 5 : 00pm. Shift will change during execution in May to 6 / 1. Day shift and night shifts available.
LOA & Subsistence
- LOA : $185 / day for workers traveling from 100 km+ (Client approval required)
- Travel : $50 / day for those living 50–100 km away
- LOA employees must stay within 50 km (no travel allowance provided).
Job Duties / Responsibilities
Read and interpret blueprints and project drawingsInstall and align structural steel components including columns, beams and platformsUse cranes, rigging and hoisting equipment to lift and position heavy materialsBolt, weld or rivet steel assemblies per engineered specificationsWork on elevated platforms and scaffolding within confined spaces or remote site areasEnsure proper handling and installation of steel in accordance with environmental and project safety regulationsCollaborate with other trades and disciplines to meet schedule deadlinesAdhere to OCL Group safety proceduresSkills / Education / Qualifications
Journeyperson Ironworker CertificationRegistered Ironworker ApprenticeExperience with multiplate assembly is preferred and considered an asset.Previous experience working in an industrial setting is an assetStrong rigging, fitting and steel erecting experienceMust have valid safety tickets : CSTS-2020 Fundamentals, WHMIS 2015, Firewatch (Apprentices only), Energy Safety Canada Fall ProtectionEnsure a safe team environmentAdhere to all company and worksite safety and quality processes and proceduresStrong communication skillsDesire to work in a team environmentComfortable working outside in various weather conditionsMust be legally eligible to work in CanadaMust be able to pass a pre-employment drug and alcohol testOCL Group Inc. is an equal opportunity employer.
