Payroll Specialist

We are looking for an experienced Payroll Specialist to join our team on a contract basis in Ottawa, Ontario. In this role, you will be responsible for managing full-cycle payroll processes for approximately 800 employees while ensuring accuracy and compliance with all regulations. This position offers an excellent opportunity to apply your expertise in payroll systems and financial functions within the non-profit sector.Responsibilities:- Process full-cycle payroll for a workforce of approximately 800 employees, ensuring accuracy and timeliness.- Prepare and issue T4 forms and other required payroll documentation.- Reconcile payroll accounts to maintain accurate financial records.- Verify employee information and ensure compliance with all applicable requirements.- Utilize payroll systems such as ADP Workforce Now and Ceridian Dayforce to manage payroll operations.- Handle benefit administration and tax reporting as part of payroll functions.- Collaborate with internal teams to address payroll-related inquiries and resolve discrepancies.- Maintain confidentiality and adhere to all regulatory standards related to payroll and employee data.- Generate detailed payroll reports and provide insights to support organizational decision-making.- Stay updated on payroll regulations and best practices to ensure compliance.- Minimum of 5 years of experience in full-cycle payroll processing.- Proficiency in payroll systems such as ADP Workforce Now, Ceridian, and Dayforce.- Strong knowledge of payroll functions, including tax accounting and benefits administration.- Experience preparing and reconciling T4 forms and other payroll documentation.- Ability to manage payroll for large teams, ideally 800 employees or more.- Exceptional attention to detail and organizational skills.- Familiarity with accounting functions and software systems.- Understanding of compliance requirements related to payroll and employee data privacy.Robert Half is the world's first and largest specialized talent solutions firm that connects highly qualified job seekers to opportunities at great companies.
