Local Department Head - Geriatric Medicine - Langley Memorial Hospital

Job Summary The Local Department Head of Geriatric Medicine at Langley Memorial Hospital (LMH) will: Participate in the Site Operations Committee or equivalent for the Facility Function as the channel of communication to and from the Regional Department to keep Members practicing within the Facility informed regarding Fraser Health, HAMAC and Departmental objectives, policies and general activities and to ensure Regional Departments are aware of issues specific to the Facility In collaboration with the Regional Department Head, recommend appointment of practitioners, renewal of Medical Staff membership and privileges Ensure the requirements of programs operating within the Facility are co-ordinated Promote health and wellness amongst Members Investigate and document complaints regarding care provided by Members within the Department at the Facility under the direction of the appropriate Regional Department Head and/or Site Medical Director where appropriate Encourage a healthy, respectful workplace Review with the Regional Department Head the human resource requirements of the Regional Department practicing within the Facility Contribute to the search and selection of applicants for vacancies in the Regional Department Conduct morbidity and mortality reviews.
