HVAC Technician

TheBurnaby School District is recruiting for FULL-TIME HVAC Technicians. This positionservices, upgrades, installs, repairs and inspects heating and ventilationequipment.

Avariety of pipefitting duties, including inspecting and cleaning boilers, rooftop ventilation units, forced air units, cooling plants and associatedequipment as well as calibrate and repair pneumatic and electronic controls andthermostats, including DDC systems are also pivotal functions of thisposition.

This position works withcomputer software (programming and scheduling) for automated heating andventilating systems as required.

Required Qualifications & Experience : · Completion of Grade 12· TradesQualification (TQ) in Steamfitting / Pipefitting trade or a TQ in a relevant trade· Gasfitter’sCertificate (Class B) Class A is preferred · Restrictedelectrical ticket is an asset· Fouryears related work experience as a Journeyman in HVAC service coupled withboiler maintenance and DDC / building automation experience is required· ValidB.

C. Driver’s License (Class 5)· Extensiveknowledge of current techniques, methods, procedures and equipment applicableto the HVAC trade, plus knowledge of computerized control software andequipment is required We are looking for a self-starter with an abilityto organize daily tasks, work independently and as a memberof a team.

Demonstrated abilityto work at the level of independence and with the degreeof initiative appropriate to the position is also required.

Thisposition is a 12-month, full-time (40-hours / week) position complete with a wageof $46.18 / hour and a benefits package including paid vacation, paid sickdays, dental and extended health benefits, life insurance, and pension.
