Hydraulic Engineer III

Our client is seeking a Senior Hydraulic Engineer (Edmonton or Calgary) specializing in liquid pipeline and facility hydraulics to provide technical direction, modelling expertise, and recommendations that optimize operations and strengthen process safety.

Responsibilities

• Conduct hydraulic studies using modelling software to analyze pipeline systems, identify design / maintenance issues, develop solutions, and issue formal technical recommendations.
• Provide hydraulics engineering support to operations and troubleshoot hydraulics problems within assigned asset areas.
• Develop / review transient and steady-state hydraulic models and technical reports; perform hydraulics-focused technical reviews across the project lifecycle.
• Execute and / or review feasibility studies, conceptual designs, process studies, and detailed engineering designs to ensure alignment with internal quality processes, applicable standards, and industry regulations.
• Guide project teams toward competitive designs and improved operational reliability; support implementation of technical recommendations.
• Lead / participate in continuous improvement initiatives for hydraulic design and engineering processes.
• Maintain proactive communication with internal and external stakeholders; initiate and lead meetings and technical discussions as required.
• Produce clear documentation of design parameters, assumptions, and results to enable effective communication across Project Teams, Operations, and Engineering stakeholders.
• Support Project Execution teams to meet project requirements; contribute to scope development for pipeline and facility projects.
• Participate in PHA reviews as needed.
