We are currently seeking an Electrical Discipline Lead to complement our skilled Electrical team in the Vancouver office. This person will lead the Electrical Buildings and Facilities Group in Vancouver, provide oversight and take responsibility for the team's business results and work directly and provide direction with the team, and drive a culture of business development and market awareness for the services offered by the group.

Responsibilities :

Oversee design process from feasibility through completion and liaise directly with clients on major projects.

Perform detailed electrical design work and review the work of junior designers. Direct CAD team for drawing preparation and review deliverables prior to submission to client.

Prepare written reports based on building electrical assessments and audits.

Prepare written tender documents and technical specifications. Evaluate products and contractor proposals in order to make award recommendations to owner.

Work with management to develop business strategies related to new clients and potential growth areas in electrical engineering.

Assist with proposal preparation and contacting new clients to grow business.

Qualifications :

Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering from an accredited university.

P.Eng. registration in Canada.

15 or more years of experience in the Consulting Engineering Industry.

Expert proficiency in Canadian building codes and design standards.

Experience in the following areas, in order of preference : building upgrades / renovations, new building design, data center design (emergency power, grounding and UPS), energy audits, condition assessments, LEED certified projects, telecommunication projects, lighting design.

Business acumen, focused on developing client relationships, bringing in new projects, understanding and meeting all client needs.

Mentorship ability and interest in developing technical capabilities of junior staff.
