Payroll Specialist - 6+ Week Contract

About the Opportunity

• Administer bi-weekly salary and hourly Canadian payrolls, including accurate and timely processing (hires, changes, terminations, timecard maintenance, bonuses, and other special payments), and reconciling and distributing payroll reports and data

Administer investments and retirement savings programs tied to bi-weekly payroll contributions

Responsible for the reconciliation and filing of all payroll and benefits-related remittances such as EHT, WCB, T4s, T4A, Releve 1, T2200s, benefit reconciliations, etc., and processing applicable payments, cheques, and EFTs

Support year-end processing and reconciliation of payroll filings and returns (federal and provincial), and ad-hoc payroll reporting

Assist projects and special initiatives as required

About You :

5+ years of progressive full-cycle payroll experience with multiple provinces and business entities, with strong working knowledge of payroll-related tax legislation and employment standards

PCP designation from the National Payroll Institute (NPI) required

University degree or College diploma required

Excellent time management and organizational skills with the capability to multitask and perform in a fast-paced, deadline-driven environment

Strong problem-solving and analytical skills; meticulous attention to detail and accuracy

Demonstrated professionalism when dealing with confidential and sensitive information

Strong team player and customer service orientation

Pay Range : $30 - $32 per hour
