We have big plans and exciting projects in the Rady Faculty of Health Sciences and we are looking for a Donor Relations Officer to join our team. We are looking for someone who is energetic and an effective problem-solver with an innate ability to work with people. Someone who is known for their creativity and positive attitude. With your experience and strong customer service and relationship-building skills, you are motivated to work with philanthropists to advance health care innovations and address pressing health care issues. The position is based on the University of Manitoba's Bannatyne Campus - where you will see firsthand the work of practitioners and the impact on patients. Through philanthropy, the role supports new and cutting-edge research programs and student support initiatives. The position will play a critical role in a multi-million-dollar campaign that will change the way dental professionals are trained in Manitoba. Reporting to the Senior Director, Major Gifts, Rady Faculty of Health Sciences, you are a fundraising professional with experience in large campaigns and gifts over $25,000. Key responsibilities include managing a portfolio of donors, working closely with faculty, researchers, and senior leaders, as well as developing donor strategies and faculty cases for support. Your combination of skills, passion, and commitment make you successful in this role. Responsibilities : - Acts as the principal donor strategist for each prospect in their personal portfolio - developing and implementing written donor strategies and relationship records of interactions. - Ensures their personal portfolio of donor and donor prospects is balanced between prospects in identification, cultivation, solicitation, and stewardship.- Represents the University of Manitoba to external constituencies and facilitates relationships between individuals, corporations, foundations and key members of the university, leading to gifts.- Establishes a relationship with the Dean and other key faculty members and engages with these individuals in the fundraising process.- Identifies, recruits and supports senior administrators and other key stakeholders for participation in gift solicitations.- Provides leadership and direction to high level volunteers (e.g., CEOs, presidents of corporations, University Deans, Directors, Department Heads). - Identifies prospects who may be ready for a transformational gift or planned gift and develops recommendations for cultivation / solicitation strategy.- Promotes cross-collaboration with other colleagues, building trust in the prospect management process and synergies across Faculties.- Actively participates in moves management sessions for the Donor Relations gift team.- Writes persuasive, appropriate funding proposals, communicating the university's plans, programs, services and initiatives for potential donors. - Develops cases for support and Faculty fundraising plans in conjunction with the Donor Relations team.- Regularly communicates plans and progress against the goal to the Dean and provides accurate advice to identify appropriate funding opportunities and support to faculty who are seeking external funding.- Champions and identifies resources from Transformational Gift Officers, Planned Giving, Annual Giving and Advancement Services to ensure a high level of service for their : MINIMUM FORMAL EDUCATION / TRAINING REQUIRED : -University Undergraduate degree is required-Certified Fund Raising Executive (CFRE) designation is an asset-Membership in Professional Associations is encouraged Experience : -Five years experience in a similar position related or experience is required.-An acceptable equivalent combination of education and experience may be considered. Skills And Abilities : - Demonstrated ability to exercise initiative and independent action when required- Excellent communication skills to deal effectively with senior level positions in the university and with corporations- Demonstrated ability to plan, organize and supervise activities - Strong public speaking skills- Demonstrated skills in computer applications are needed- Satisfactory work record, including satisfactory attendance and punctuality
