Role Overview
This is a hands-on senior engineering role, focused on modern Microsoft Teams Rooms (MTR) environments, Windows-based collaboration endpoints, and next‑generation AV technologies. The team is split and overloaded, and we’re looking for someone who can step in with real experience, take ownership, and help drive multiple projects forward.
You will work across AV engineering, standards development, endpoint certification, and room modernization initiatives. This role is about bringing AV solutions together at the endpoint, ensuring all components — Crestron, Q‑SYS, Windows-based MTRs, DSPs, networking, and auxiliary devices — work together seamlessly in one solution.
This position is best suited for someone who has done this before and can hit the ground running without requiring extensive ramp-up.
What You’ll Be Doing
- Build, certify, and deploy AV and collaboration standards in the engineering LAB
- Lead AV solution design, endpoint configuration, and end-to-end system integration
- Carry project workloads and support other engineers so projects move faster and smoother
- Work closely with installation teams to ensure implementation follows engineering standards
- Modernize legacy meeting rooms and bring them up to certified MTR and AV standards
- Evaluate new AV technologies and validate compatibility with enterprise environments
- Act as a senior technical resource for escalations, troubleshooting, and system tuning
- Contribute to strategic planning for collaboration technologies and service maturity
How You'll Succeed
1. Engineering & Subject Matter Expertise
- You’ll leverage strong experience with modern AV ecosystems:
- Microsoft Teams Rooms (Windows-based preferred)
- Crestron (must‑have)
- Q‑SYS (very important)
- Biamp DSP
- Dante (nice-to-have)
- Microsoft Surface Hubs
- Networking fundamentals (Cisco Catalyst preferred)
- Any broadcast/IPTV exposure is considered an asset
- Knowledge of older/legacy systems is helpful, but the priority is modern, endpoint-driven collaboration technologies.
2. Project & Technology Leadership
- Take ownership of projects and help coordinate with other engineers
- “Bolt everything together” technically across the full AV stack
- Make architecture decisions even when requirements aren’t fully defined
- Help the team move faster by being the experienced technical anchor
3. Vendor & Service Governance
- Ensure all solutions meet enterprise requirements
- Participate in vendor management and operational governance activities
- Maintain standards, documentation, and lifecycle management
Who You Are
- A senior, experienced AV engineer who can jump in without hand-holding
- Strong with MTR endpoints, Crestron, and Q‑SYS
- Comfortable contributing to design and also rolling up your sleeves
- Curious, adaptable, and passionate about modern enterprise collaboration
- Detail-oriented with a strong sense of ownership and accountability
- Background is flexible — enterprise experience is helpful but not required
- Ultimately, you care about delivering a flawless Microsoft Teams meeting experience
Nice-to-Have Certifications
- AQAV 9000 CQD or CQT
- Crestron certifications
- Dante certification
