Are you a natural problem solver interested in helping grow and shape the business both financially and operationally? If so, this exciting new role will be responsible for supporting all aspects of our Skip’s Retail business including our micro-fulfillment center grocery line of business, Skip Express Lane, Non-restaurant Partners and other new business initiatives.
In addition to reporting, analysis, and general accounting, this role will be key in the growth of Retail - driving both operational excellence and optimizing our P&L for long term success.
This role currently reports to the Finance Business Partner and we are looking for someone who is resilient and adaptable, capable of taking on new projects and developing processes to drive efficiencies working directly with leaders in the business.
The Senior Financial Analyst - Retail and New Verticals will serve as the primary financial lead for the Skip Express Lane business. This role involves comprehensive analysis and review of various business metrics, providing actionable insights into business performance. The successful candidate will work closely with cross-functional teams, leveraging financial data to support strategic decision-making. Additionally, the role will encompass financial support for all other new verticals within the organization.
What’s On Your Plate :
Lead the development of the annual operating budget and forecasts for Skip Express Lane & support the development of annual budgets and forecasts for all other new business initiatives
Take full ownership of the P&L, ensuring accuracy and completeness.
Establish timelines and initiate reviews with stakeholders to ensure timely and consistent plan delivery aligned with overall company strategy.
Prepare and present monthly and year-to-date (YTD) management and financial report accompanied by root cause variance explanations, risks and opportunities.
Build and maintain financial models to support budgeting and forecasting activities.
Support strategic and functional plans by performing sensitivity and cost / benefit analysis,
Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including Merchandising, Operations, Partnership, and Marketing, etc to drive business objectives and improve financial performances
Demonstrate a proactive drive for continuous improvement
Review and streamline Commercial Finance processes, working with the internal controls team to implement a strong control framework.
Undertake ad-hoc projects and process improvements, including process and system integrations, campaign tracking, ad-hoc reporting for partners, and financial modeling for new partnerships and commercial arrangements.
Recipe For Success :
CPA designation with 3-5 years of proven strategic and operational experience
Extensive experience with Microsoft Excel and / or Google Sheets
Strong interpersonal and communication skills to liaise with other departments
Highly adaptable and passionate about solving business problems - both from a finance and operational perspective.
Experience in the retail industry supporting store financials is considered an asset
Experience with SQL and / or data analysis tools (Tableau / PowerBI) is considered an asset.
