Job Summary
We are seeking a detail-oriented and organized Legal Assistant to support our legal team. The ideal candidate will play a vital role in managing administrative tasks, conducting legal research, and assisting with document preparation. The Legal Assistant will be responsible for ensuring smooth office operations and supporting Lawyers with various project management and clerical duties.
Key Roles And Responsibilities
- Prepare annual returns, resolutions and corporate governance / compliance documents
- Draft resolutions, share certificates, share transfers, registers, ledgers and related documents
- Prepare and file documents for Alberta and Federal corporations
- Assist with amendments, continuances, amalgamations, dissolutions and revivals
- Complete extra-provincial registrations and renewals
- Prepare business name and partnership registrations
- Maintain and update corporate records
- Conduct due diligence, corporate (CORES) searches and NUANS name searches
- Assist lawyers with corporate transactions such as asset / share purchases / sales and reorganizations
- Liaise with clients, government agencies and other professionals
- Maintain accurate corporate databases
Requirements
Minimum 2 years of relevant experience as a corporate paralegal / legal assistantKnowledge of LEAP accounting software is an assetMinimum Level 1 CORES certificationProficiency in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Outlook)Exceptional attention to detail and organizational skillsStrong written and verbal communication abilitiesAbility to manage multiple deadlines in a fast-paced environmentReliable and able to work independently taking initiative when required#J-18808-Ljbffr
