The opportunity

This contract role is supporting internal services at our client and is a hybrid work arrangement. The successful contractor will be expected in our Vaughan office at least 1x per month, and as required for in person meetings. This is a 6-month contract with potential to convert to a permanent position.

What you will do

  • Work with business teams to define and document business requirements and functional specifications for new projects and change requests, ensuring all stakeholders are consulted and informed, and ensuring that all documented requirements are fully reviewed and approved.
  • Design data visualizations that deliver meaningful data metrics via easy-to-use dashboard solutions.
  • Map data flows from source to target systems, ensuring all data elements are fully categorized and cataloged.
  • Complete analysis on datasets of many sizes and clearly communicate the resulting insights to stakeholders, enabling them to make informed business decisions.
  • Lead and perform end-to-end (source to target) data validations for all newly developed projects before handing the results over to business teams for user acceptance testing.
  • Collaborate with the Enterprise Analytics team to continuously improve the program’s methodology, including document templates, pipeline management and reporting solutions.
  • Work with the Data Management team to support and maintain data analytics standards across our client, ensuring relevant data standards and policies are observed in all Enterprise Analytics projects.
  • Qualifications

  • Minimum 5 years of experience in an analytics role, including large-scale data transformation projects.
  • Ability to analyze and document data source systems, data objects, linage, applications, data usage and privacy.
  • Exceptional communication skills, including the ability to deliver concise requirements and flow diagrams.
  • Ability to forge consensus within a group of stakeholders, to deliver a solution that works for all.
  • Knowledge of agile methodology and the software development life cycle (SDLC).
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, a creative approach, and superior design aesthetics.
  • Strong knowledge of data analysis tools and frameworks such as Oracle, SQL Server, SSIS and SSRS, and the ability to write complex SQL queries and statements and analyze large data sets.
  • Experience with tools such as Azure DevOps, SharePoint, Office 365, Microsoft Teams, etc.
  • Nice to Have :

  • Ability to build dashboards and visualizations using PowerBI
  • Experience with establishing best practices and standards for an EA program
