Who We Are

The Visitor Experiences Branch is responsible for the provincial park integrated campground management system (ICMS) and provides data intelligence and analysis to support business strategies and operations. We serve the Ministry of Parks, Culture and Sport who works with diverse groups and communities to enhance the province’s cultural, artistic, recreational and social life.

The Opportunity

The Park Experiences team of the Visitor Experiences Branch is seeking a well-rounded professional to join us as a Park System Team Lead to support and oversee the ICMS. Based out of Regina, this team is responsible for the day-to-day support of the ICMS through direct contact with the users and stakeholders of the system and supporting system stakeholders when changes are requested.

The Park System Team Lead role will be of interest to individuals with strong leadership, communication, and problem-solving skills, acting as the primary liaison between internal and external stakeholders and overseeing the ICMS. In this role, you will excel at analyzing business needs to identify problems faced by clients and stakeholders and find solutions. You will be responsible for leading system-related initiatives, changes and improvements.

The Ideal Candidate

The successful candidate will have knowledge of :

  • Business analysis, systems design and technology planning through a combination of experience and / or education; and
  • Business process improvement methodologies, tools and processes.

The successful candidate will have demonstrated ability to :

  • Provide leadership and direction for the ICMS and System Operations team member overseeing day-to-day operations support, system enhancement implementation and system maintenance;
  • Facilitate communications including technology planning sessions to address system-related issues and support strategic initiatives;
  • Research business needs, gather business requirements and prepare requirements documents to determine future business needs and develop technological alternatives to improve user experience, system maintenance, stability and security;
  • Research and develop policies and processes related to application changes;
  • Provide daily support and technical and program direction to staff to resolve system / service delivery programs and assist clients in the use of the ICMS;
  • Act as a change agent that provides a lead role in business improvement activities to ensure client expectations, requirements and government priorities are met;
  • Advanced communication skills to effectively communicate system changes and business requirements to both technical and non-technical users;
  • Act as a liaison between internal users and external partners;
  • Facilitate system application testing of functionality and system changes;
  • Participate in the quality assurance of solutions to ensure features and functions have been enabled and optimized;
  • Lead the development and implementation of training programs and user guidance documents to ensure effective utilization of processes;
  • Oversee connectivity solutions provided by business partners across Saskatchewan Provincial Parks;
  • Build and maintain cooperative and collaborative relationships with colleagues, team members, business clients, external stakeholders and service providers; and
  • Competently use Microsoft tools (i.e., Word, Excel, PowerPoint, SharePoint).
  • Typically, the knowledge for this position would be attained through a university degree in Business Administration or Computer Science, business analysis certification, or an equivalent combination of education and experience demonstrating a high level of problem-solving and communication.
