POSITION TYPE TERM (One Year), FULL-TIME (Mon – Fri, 2 pm – 8 pm)(Sat 8 : 30 am – 4 : 30 pm)
Background :
As a member of the Community Helper team, you will be responsible for providing services to children, youth, and families residing primarily in the neighborhood catchment area, in partnership with residents and other community-based agencies. Working knowledge with computer programs and ability to input data daily. Must be able to work occasional evenings and Saturdays.
Qualifications :
- Initiate, develop, and implement programs and services to address specific needs of the neighborhood.
- Experience in working with community structures and community development processes.
- Ability to develop and maintain effective working relationships with Indigenous and Non-Indigenous organizations.
- Must possess excellent advocacy skills.
- Strong written / keyboarding skills.
- Microsoft Word program knowledge.
- Strong organizational skills.
- Must be willing to be a team player.
- Ability to work with a high level of independence.
- Respectful to engage people and build helping relationships.
- Strong motivational and leadership skills.
- Valid Manitoba driver’s license and access to a vehicle would be an asset.
