Job Title : Material Handler - Yard Job Description

We are seeking a material handler with experience working in an industrial yard who is confident in operating a forklift. This role involves moving large steel and heavy metal in the yard, rigging up materials, and using an overhead crane to move them. The position requires a balanced mix of machinery operation and manual physical labor. We are looking for ambitious individuals with a go-getter attitude who consistently show up to work.

Responsibilities

• Operate forklifts to handle and move large steel and heavy metal in the yard.
• Rig materials for movement using overhead cranes.
• Perform manual physical labor as required in the yard.
• Ensure safety protocols are followed during all operations.

Work Environment

The work location is in a shop in Surrey / Port Kells. The morning shift starts at 7 AM for 8 hours, with additional overtime available. An afternoon shift is opening up soon. The schedule includes a 10 days on / 4 days off rotation. Employees receive two paid coffee breaks and one 30-minute unpaid lunch break. The work environment encourages a supportive atmosphere with a focus on safety and skill development.

This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Surrey, BC.

Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $27.02 - $31.55 / hr.
