ABOUT THE ROLE
This position is responsible for providing geospatial expertise for corporate programmes, other government agencies and community stakeholders. It is also responsible for delivering data and data analytic services and supports the stewardship of corporate data, data analytics platforms, applications, and analytic products.
WHAT YOU WILL BE DOING
Collaborates / works with stakeholders and follows the corporate strategic leadership, planning and direction related to this function.Provides broad geospatial data and analytics expertise.Provides data and analytics services to corporate programmes.Identifies opportunities and provides technical leadership to enrich data available to the organisation.Advances data processing rigour and automation in support of corporate data acquisition and maintenance requirements.Develops custom data products conforming to specifications required of business applications.Reviews and applies template data models and advances adherence to applicable data standards.Supports activities pertaining to data licensing, data delivery to third parties, and technical activities to advance the Region’s Open Data programme.Provides technical leadership on business solution development projects including requirement gathering, process mapping, design, application development, data migration, integration, testing, training, and documentation.Researches and analyses business processes to identity opportunities for process redesign, automation, or other improvements.Designs, implements, and maintains corporate business applications, and creates linkages to those systems on corporate portals and other access points.Supports departmental applications through technology upgrades or other modernisation efforts.Designs and develops dashboards, data visualisations, and data stories, and cartographic products.Contributes to building technical capacity in data and analytics through the organisation and partner agencies.Provides technical guidance of data and analytics projects and coordinates with project team members.WHAT WE ARE LOOKING FOR
Successful completion of a College Diploma in Computer Information, Geomatics, Information Technology, or related field, or approved equivalent combination of education and experience.Minimum five (5) years’ experience providing project implementation analysis and support in data management systems, data integrity and security as it relates to various technology systems and application development and spatial data creation.Demonstrated experience managing data with an appreciation of data management principles.Demonstrated knowledge of the technology industry and related systems and applications.Demonstrated knowledge and experience of systems development life cycle processes using databases and programming languages.Experience in manipulating and analysing data using relevant applications.Ability to research, document, and present technical information.Ability to analyse and resolve technical problems.Experience in project management and leading project teams.Knowledge of trends in the use of current technology as it relates to data management systems.Strong analytical skills to analyse user requirements, identify issues and design, develop and implement applications and recommend solutions.Scheduled Weekly Hours : 35
