About us!
The Youth Program Leader plans and leads activities for youth ages 11–18, creating a safe, welcoming, and supportive environment. As a front-line worker, you’ll build positive relationships with youth, families, and the community. This role requires a Class 5 license and availability in Parksville as needed.
Key Responsibilities
Plan, lead, and evaluate fun, safe, and age-appropriate activities aligned with Club policies, mission, and visionFoster positive and healthy relationships among youth participantsAddress youth issues, incidents, or crises, providing support and reporting to the Youth Programs Manager or relevant agencies as neededEnsure safe use and maintenance of program equipment and facilities, including van / bus inspections for participant transportMaintain accurate program records (attendance, activity logs, statistics)Support volunteers and practicum students assisting with program deliveryParticipate in program evaluation, goal setting, and training opportunitiesAdminister first aid according to Club policiesAssist with special events, promotions, or other duties as requiredQualifications
Preference given to candidates with courses, diploma, or degree in Recreation Management, Child & Youth Care, or EducationValid Class 5 Driver’s License required; Class 4 considered an assetValid Community Care First Aid (or equivalent)Minimum 1 year of experience working with youth; experience with youth with special needs or behavioural challenges is an assetNote : For programming needs, male candidates are preferred for this role.
