Description
Parsons is now hiring an experienced utilities designer with a desire to work on complex projects where temporary and permanent utility relocates are required in order to construct the significant planned infrastructure that will change the fabric of our community. Parsons extensive experience in this field, combined with your engineering knowledge, will propel your career forward with opportunity for advancement with top performance.
In this role you will complete a wide variety of difficult engineering and assignments, applying engineering techniques and analyses within one discipline. You will apply advanced engineering techniques and analyses which may involve CAE (computer aided engineering) / CAD (computer aided design) applications.
You can expect to provide review as well as guidance and direction to the design, operations, and construction staff for the coordination of private and public utility relocations / installations to facilitate the construction of projects for infrastructure and capital works projects; You will liaise with Utility Asset Owners to identify their requirements and monitor the status of any utility work delivered by Asset Owners. Assists capital and operations project staff in acquiring the necessary approvals to install, protect, support and / or relocate conflicting utilities, and assist in the development / negotiation of cost sharing arrangements / agreements.

Completion of a post-secondary college diploma or university degree in a related discipline (civil engineering specializing in municipal services), and extensive, relevant engineering design / construction experience in a multidisciplinary design environment where detailed drawings and specifications specific to utilities design are produced; or combination of education, training and experience deemed to be equivalent
