Schedule : Monday–Friday, 8 : 00 AM – 4 : 30 PM

Reports To : Construction Manager & Development Manager

About the Role

We are seeking an experienced Senior Draftsperson to support residential construction and development projects. This role focuses on architectural drafting, permit coordination, construction support, and collaboration with internal teams to ensure designs meet regulatory and project requirements.

Key Responsibilities

Design & Drafting

Prepare and maintain architectural drawings in compliance with the Ontario Building Code and municipal zoning requirements
Create and manage master sets of working drawings, pricing plans, and brochure drawings
Review drawings for quality, accuracy, and code compliance (including BCIN review)
Respond to technical site inquiries and provide layout alternatives when required
Coordinate permit submissions and address municipal comments
Review junior draftsperson work and flag design or compliance issues

Construction & Project Support

Support construction and décor teams with upgrades, takeoffs, pricing, and documentation

Assist with permit applications, inspections, and survey follow-ups

Participate in site meetings and inspections as needed

Administrative & Coordination

Track tasks, deadlines, and project status

Maintain pricing and upgrade documentation

Provide general administrative support to the residential team

Coordinate meetings, site communications, and documentation

Qualifications & Skills

Diploma in Drafting, Design, Architecture, or related field (or equivalent experience)

Minimum 5 years of drafting experience (residential construction preferred)

BCIN required

Strong proficiency in CADD software (SoftPlan, SketchUp, and / or similar 3D modeling tools)

Solid understanding of building systems, materials, and construction practices

Knowledge of the Ontario Building Code, OHSA, and municipal zoning bylaws

Strong organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple deadlines
