Description de posteDirectly work with students as an Interactive Coach Help students develop self-confidence and self-esteem Contribute to a positive learning environment with high student engagement Bachelor’s degree or similar certification in a relevant field (fourth-year university students with extensive tutoring experience will be considered) Teaching certification is an asset Strong knowledge of Grades 1-12 math and science curricula, including senior math (Advanced Functions, algebra, trigonometry, calculus) and science subjects (vectors, physics, chemistry, biology) Experience teaching / tutoring math and science at a Grade 1-12 level Strong English communication skills and ability to guide student understanding Available during after-school and evening hours (3 : 00pm – 8 : 00pm) and some Saturdays and Sundays In-person role; ability to commute to New Westminster location; relocation not provided Vulnerable sector screening is mandatory Job Type : Part-time Salary : $20 - $23 / hour Schedule : Evenings; Monday to Friday; some weekend availability
Overview
On Call Math & Science Tutor sought by Oxford Learning Centres Inc. (New Westminster, BC). This part-time role supports Gr6-12 math and science tutoring with in-centre and online teaching, following Oxford Learning methodologies.
Responsibilities (Position Details)
- Teach up to 3 students at a time, at different levels, in-person and online
- Follow the Oxford Learning methodologies and philosophies
- Fill in post-lesson notes and complete daily student communication updates
- Maintain a friendly, professional demeanor at all times
