We seek a dedicated and knowledgeable Benefits Specialist with extensive expertise in the U.S. benefits experience to join our team.
The ideal candidate will have a strong background in administering global benefit plans and wellness initiatives. This role will involve supporting various functions within the Benefits / Wellness domain, ensuring compliance with legal standards, and contributing to a positive employee experience.
How You Will Make an Impact : Benefits / Wellness Administration
Administer day-to-day operations of global benefit plans (health, retirement, disability, etc.) : Support processes for enrollments, changes, and terminations.
Monitor employee feedback and address benefit-related queries. Process benefit deductions and monitor taxation impacts. Submit data and contributions to third-party providers.
- Exhibit knowledge of benefits principles and practices in countries including, but not limited to, Canada, the United States, the United Kingdom, Australia, Mexico, India, Spain, Singapore, The Netherlands, and Brazil.
- Support the global leave intake process for various leave requests (parental, personal, disability, unpaid leaves, etc.).
- Ensure the completion of year-end audits and compliance requirements (401k audit, ACA Reporting, US workers' comp audit, etc.).
- Review and reconcile monthly benefit invoices for accuracy; ensure timely submission to Finance.
- Process salary updates as required for Canada and the U.S.
- Manage the Benefits mailbox with careful analysis and sound judgment to provide prompt, high-level service.
- Manage the People & Culture team’s Lego program.
- Serve as the primary backup for the Global Benefits & Wellness Manager, including supporting benefit renewals and succession planning.
- Drive and lead company-wide wellness communications, promote wellness themes and initiatives, and participate as a lead for the Wellness Committee.
- Manage the Wellness Reimbursement Program.
- Assist with and manage the Employee and Family Assistance Program (EAP).
- Assist with Pension Plan administration.
What You’ll Bring to the Role :
- 3-5 years of experience in a similar role
- Extensive knowledge of U.S. benefits experience is essential (of 3 years+).
- Proven experience in benefits and wellness administration in a global context.
- Strong understanding of benefits principles and practices in multiple countries.
- Excellent organizational and communication skills.
- Ability to manage multiple tasks and prioritize effectively.
- Strong analytical skills and attention to detail.
- Proficiency in using HRIS and benefits administration systems.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
Education Recommendations :
- Bachelor’s degree in human resources, Business Administration, or a related field.
- Relevant certifications (e.g., CEBS, PHR, SHRM-CP) are a plus.
The expected base salary range for a new hire in this role is listed below. The annualized base salary offered is determined by each candidate’s relevant knowledge, skills, education, training and experience.
It is aligned to ensure both internal and external competitiveness using market data for the geographic location and industry.
As part of the total compensation at D2L the role may be eligible for additional benefits including a Wellness Subsidy, Equity Grants, Variable Incentive, and more.
Base Salary Range$70,000 $76,000 CAD
