Multimatic Technical Centre (MTC), located in the heart of Multimatic’s Markham, Ontario campus, provides advanced design engineering, simulation, and testing to Multimatic’s manufacturing divisions, automotive OEMs, and motorsports organizations. Co‑located with Multimatic’s prototype manufacturing and Motorsports team enables industry leading rapid development cycles through strong collaboration.

The Role

Multimatic’s Mechanisms Engineering team is looking for talented Design Engineers to help create innovative solutions for the world’s leading OEMs. Our team develops everything from Side Door Hinges to advanced motion systems, including Active Aerodynamic Devices and PowerDoor™ actuators. In this role, you’ll take automotive components from concept through to high‑volume production, ensuring they meet performance, cost, and manufacturability targets. With multiple openings, we welcome candidates at all career stages — whether you bring seasoned technical expertise or are eager to build your skills on complex, high‑profile programs.

Key Responsibilities

• Generating innovative design concepts to satisfy OEM customer requirements
• Create and maintain 3D CAD models, drawings with GD&T, and engineering documentation such as DFMEAs, DVP&Rs, tolerance stack‑ups and other engineering calculations
• Lead product development through defining and reviewing virtual and physical validation studies
• Work in close partnership with program management, process and quality teams at Multimatic’s manufacturing divisions to support DFM, DFA, and VA / VE activities.
• Collaborate with Multimatic’s Electronics and Software teams to deliver integrated solutions for powered mechanisms
• Hands‑on assembly of new design concepts to support prototype builds, testing, and validation.
• Communicate directly with customers to understand technical requirements, provide design solutions and program updates.
• Drive continuous improvement in design process and product performance
