Position : Casual

Wage : 21 / hr-24 / hr

Position summary :

Reporting to Nurse Manager the Operating Room Aide is responsible and accountable for providing direct support to the surgical unit to facilitate the processing of patients. The Operating Room Aide will act in accordance with policies and procedures for appropriate and safe care of patients and maintenance of the facility and its equipment. The Operating Room Aide must have a comprehensive understanding of safety regulations related to cleaning products and material handling while demonstrating a professional and caring approach in dealing with clients co-workers and supervisors.

Daily Routine (in order of priority if not otherwise specified by Nurse Manager ) :

Morning :

• Be available to OR for turnovers / specimens
• Be available to PAR for screening / settling of patients and turnovers as needed
• When not needed for turnovers or direct patient care may proceed with other duties listed in responsibilities prioritizing according to urgency
• Breaks to be taken in between being needed in OR / PAR and to communicate with teams to ensure proper timing
• Assess situation and if needed to leave clinic for (clinic duties) other than specimen transport notify OR / PAR so they are aware where you are
