Brake Press Operator

• Set up and operate Amada CNC brake press machines to bend form and shape sheet metal.
• Interpret and work from technical drawings blueprints and work orders.
• Select install and adjust proper tooling dies and machine settings.
• Conduct first-article inspections and verify part dimensions using calipers gauges and other precision measuring tools.
• Monitor machine operations to ensure quality and consistency throughout production runs.
• Make necessary adjustments to maintain tolerances and minimize scrap.
• Perform routine maintenance and basic troubleshooting of brake press equipment.
• Maintain a clean organized and safe work environment in compliance with company and OSHA standards.
• Collaborate with engineers supervisors and quality control to resolve production issues.

Qualifications:

• Proven experience operating Amada brake press machines (or equivalent CNC press brakes).
• Strong knowledge of sheet metal fabrication processes and materials.
• Ability to read and interpret blueprints technical drawings and work instructions.
• Skilled in using precision measuring instruments (calipers micrometers protractors etc.).
• Mechanical aptitude with attention to detail and problem-solving skills.
• Ability to work independently as well as part of a team.
• Physical ability to lift up to 50 lbs and stand for extended periods.

Preferred:

• Prior experience in a manufacturing or metal fabrication environment.
• Familiarity with Lean Manufacturing and continuous improvement practices.
• Basic CNC programming knowledge specific to Amada controls.
